The Cost Of Not Fully Investing In Yourself

It can feel so defeating when, after you’ve decided to establish healthy habits like exercising regularly and eating right, your determination hits an unexpected hurdle:

The costs.

Believe me, I know it’s frustrating, especially these days.

But there’s a way to look at the cost associated with fitness and dieting.

First, the costs don’t have to be high, and you don’t have to spend a ton of money on things that don’t serve you. Trust me, the latest, newest, shiniest thing isn’t always the best. (In fact, it’s usually not.) But if you buy workout clothes and shoes… pay for a gym membership… maybe a trainer… it adds up and can become an easy excuse to trigger your fears of failure (we all have them) and potentially derail you.

Plus, when buying groceries, we all know that eating well is more costly than buying junk food. It’s unfortunate, but it’s the sad truth!

It’s all about priorities. There are people who spend $50 a week at Starbucks but penny-pinch and DIY their fitness routine!

Here’s the way to think about any money you spend on your health and fitness.

It’s not a cost.

It’s an investment.

And we all know the difference between merely spending money (Starbucks) and doing something useful with it that will bring back its value many times over (taking care of yourself). This is not groundbreaking news.

If you think that you can penny-pinch and DIY your routines with random articles, videos and freebies that are offered, think about the non-monetary cost. Wasting your time and not achieving your goals, Getting injured with a program that doesn’t take “you” into consideration. The confusion you get trying to piece together pieces of information without a solid base of understanding. The lack of control you will feel knowing that you don’t know how to take care of your own body.

You are investing in a long-term project….you. Going about it in a hodge-podge cheap manner will give you the same in your results.

Never be shy to invest in your health.

Are you not worth it?

Of course, you ARE!

👉🏽 P.S. To maximize your ROI invest in a program that allows you to work with and learn how to work with your body holistically. The body was designed holistically, and holistic is the most effective way to work with it. There are thousands of different stretches, exercises, and activities that you can do. Learn what s most important for YOU.

Invest in a program and coaching with decades of experience using this specific, holistic, and integrated model.

I Woke Up And Had No Drive To Accomplish Anything.

Solcore therapy and fitness

This is not my norm; I was at a loss when it hit me. I am a seize-the-day guy who loves working hard and getting things done. It’s how I have operated my entire life and accomplished a lot.

So when I didn’t feel my normal “Roar” to start the day, I had no connection to me. I didn’t quite know what to do. So I went through my day and did what I usually would, but I felt like I was watching somebody else.

This continued for a few months, and I tried everything I usually would to maximize myself and keep moving forward. But it only made it worse, which of course, started to add frustration to the situation.

I was pushing, like I usually do, to move forward. But I didn’t realize life was pushing back. It was telling me I was making the wrong move. Unfortunately, it took me a while to hear. One of my best qualities is that I will make myself do something if I know it will lead to a better outcome. I’d rather be uncomfortable in the short term so that I am not uncomfortable in the long term.

But one of my most detrimental qualities is that I keep going when I should stop and gather myself. My dedication turns into forcing and fighting, leading to the energy of forcing and fighting. Jeeze, when I say it out loud, it’s uncomfortable.

And that is what I felt inside. Extremely uncomfortable until one day, I emotionally and mentally couldn’t take it anymore. Something had to change.

And that is why I am writing you today. If you want a different result, you must do something completely different.

Where are you using “old” thinking patterns to achieve new results? You’ll know because you feel stuck, frustrated, and confused.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them” Einstein.

Since it’s different, YOU WILL be frustrated and confused and feel like you want to return to what is comfortable.

I had to and am in the process of “revamping” how I operate. Not easy because I have no frame of reference other than what I was doing before isn’t going to work now. I am still in this process, but I have seen it work in many other situations with myself and numerous others. And I am keeping myself open.

Stick with it, and you will grow into a more fulfilled version of yourself. Quit, and you stay the same, and that gnawing feeling that you are stuck will grow and consume you. Not an exaggeration.

Well, you made it this far. Comment below and let me know how this resonates with you and what things you are doing to with your “old” thinking that is causing you frustration.

Shape Your Identity from the Things You Want

SolCore therapy and fitness

We all have a sense of identity, of who we are.

For instance, you might be an American. You might also be a parent. You could be a spouse too. You could be a writer.

Some parts of our identity are given to us and fixed, but others we choose on our own – often without realizing we’re making a choice.

So, let’s think about the choices we make that affect our identity. What are those choices based on?

I believe they’re based on what we want – and how we limit our chances of success by misidentifying ourselves.

Let’s say you have a goal of having a body that stays strong, balanced, and mobile as you age so that you can continue to live your life uninhibited.

You could express that in terms of an outcome, like “I want to be able to continue my life as is as I get older.” But the problem with outcomes is that we can’t always control them, then we feel like failures and, too often, give up.

But what if you switched from the OUTCOME to the IDENTITY by saying, “I’m the kind of person who enjoys working with my body to keep it strong, mobile and balanced.”

Next, reverse-engineer the process by asking, What does that kind of person do? And then start doing those things.

So, instead of thinking that “a strong, mobile, and balanced body” is something you want someday, you adapt the goal as part of your identity. You’re the kind of person who can maintain a body like this, and you’re doing the things that you need to do to be this person, which will constantly achieve the outcome.

Success follows the actions, which follow the shift in how you think about yourself.

You can follow this process with anything you desire, like this.

“I want to go to Paris someday, but I’ll never be able to afford it” easily becomes, “I’m the kind of person who saves $50 a week so I can go on a nice vacation once a year.”

I know you’re the kind of person with powerful emotions, an awesome track record, and the mindset to make things happen for yourself and others.

Build on that identity!

As you work on your identity and goals and realize that what you are doing currently needs to change, I’d love to help.

“𝑴𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓, 𝑹𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒆 𝑷𝒂𝒊𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝑶𝒏 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑻𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒔. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 4 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒑𝒔 𝑻𝒐 𝑩𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌 𝑻𝒉𝒆

𝑪𝒚𝒄𝒍𝒆, 𝑭𝒊𝒙 𝑰𝒕 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝑲𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒊𝒕!”

It’ll help you see the gaps in your program and how to fix them. Then stay tuned at the end for a fantastic offer.

If You Want to Change Your Actions, First Change Your Values

SolCore Fitness Therapy and training

Have you ever caught yourself not respecting what you desire in your life?

I’m talking about a time when your ACTIONS did not line up with your stated VALUES.

I’ll give you an example. Some people say reading is important to them. But they can’t tell you the last book they read. If they actually valued reading, they’d say, “I read the new Stephen King last week.”

It’s not a simple matter of being inauthentic or disingenuous.

It’s called cognitive dissonance – when your actions don’t match (what you claim to be) your values.

You can try to change your actions in times of cognitive dissonance.

But if you’re finding that difficult, you should examine your values. For example, you may say you want different results around healthy living, but you continue to perform the same cycle of activities.

So, start examining yourself.

✅ Do you cherish health for today and for the future – or is it just something you know and say, but you aren’t considering how your activities are affecting your health and fitness for the long term.

✅ Do you understand the connection between daily habits and long-term health – or is it something conceptual and is not actively done each day?

✅ How do you see yourself in the future – strong and capable or weak and helpless? Are you doing what you need to do to make the change in your actions so that it leads to being strong and capable, or are you staying the course, even though the results of your actions aren’t what you want, and you expect somebody else to ‘fix you?

✅ Whom do you admire – What would this person do in your situation?

You need to decide what’s ACTUALLY important to you. What kind of person you truly want to be.

When you answer those questions, the right actions will be shown to you. It’s up to you to take action and manage “you” during the process.

I believe in you so much that I already know the answers to these questions. I have every faith you can walk your talk – and even learn to RUN with it.

If you just had that pang of realization, your instinct is telling you you need this. But knowing you need to do it and how to do it are two different things.

The how is more complex and needs to be laid out and taught comprehensively, holistically, and progressively. This is not something a layperson (even one who keeps up with the latest “best practices”) can do independently.

Let me help you. I have almost 30 years of experience and degrees within the osteopathic discipline that has taught me the most comprehensive philosophy of how to get and keep your body as balanced, strong, and mobile as possible.

I want to help spread the word on how to apply this to as many people as possible because if you want longevity and to live life to its fullest, a holistic exercise program must be part of your practice.

I am willing to open some spots in my schedule for free consultations. We’ll go over where you are now. What you are doing and have done. And where you want to go. This will allow me to see the gaps in your training and help provide valuable info. And only if I think you are a good fit for my program will I offer you a space in it.

Thinking that if you “try harder” or be “more disciplined” in doing the activities that brought you here and are not sustainably getting you out is deceiving yourself.

You must do something different that your body “likes” and responds to.
