Honor your word to yourself đŻ
You probably like to think that you have integrity.
Youâre proud that you follow-through and do what you tell others youâll do ⊠that you honor commitments to friends, family, coworkers and others, right?
But what about keeping promises to yourself?đ€ Itâs so much easier to let those slide, isnât it?
Weâve all done it countless times. Weâve said weâll do our self-care “later, “⊠and then we get busy or donât feel like it. Weâve promised to stop being overly critical of ourselves ⊠until we make the first mistake and beat ourselves up.
Weâve assured ourselves that tomorrow, next week, or next month THINGS WOULD BE DIFFERENT⊠but we fail to take the necessary action to stay true to our word.đ Itâs all about nurturing the right mindset.
Hereâs how you can break this habit in two simple steps.
đđŸ Donât overcommit, even TO yourself. Set a reasonable, achievable goal and agree to take a certain, specific action on a certain, specific time to begin reaching it. Write it down in your journal.
đđŸ Then pretend youâve made that commitment to a parent, a boss, or a neighbor you want to impress â someone you would NEVER leave hanging. Show yourself that same respect and STICK TO YOUR WORD. Treat yourself the way you treat others â and want to be treated by them.
It really is that simple. And itâll change your life.
P.S Do you know that I have a holistic fitness program that I teach in-house and online that has helped hundreds of active people get out of pain, get mobile, and back to the life they want to live? Well, now you do! Traditional exercise and therapy programs miss the mark. They are too general and can’t get into those little places that you need to function at your best.
