If You Want to Change Your Actions, First Change Your Values

SolCore Fitness Therapy and training

Have you ever caught yourself not respecting what you desire in your life?

I’m talking about a time when your ACTIONS did not line up with your stated VALUES.

I’ll give you an example. Some people say reading is important to them. But they can’t tell you the last book they read. If they actually valued reading, they’d say, “I read the new Stephen King last week.”

It’s not a simple matter of being inauthentic or disingenuous.

It’s called cognitive dissonance – when your actions don’t match (what you claim to be) your values.

You can try to change your actions in times of cognitive dissonance.

But if you’re finding that difficult, you should examine your values. For example, you may say you want different results around healthy living, but you continue to perform the same cycle of activities.

So, start examining yourself.

✅ Do you cherish health for today and for the future – or is it just something you know and say, but you aren’t considering how your activities are affecting your health and fitness for the long term.

✅ Do you understand the connection between daily habits and long-term health – or is it something conceptual and is not actively done each day?

✅ How do you see yourself in the future – strong and capable or weak and helpless? Are you doing what you need to do to make the change in your actions so that it leads to being strong and capable, or are you staying the course, even though the results of your actions aren’t what you want, and you expect somebody else to ‘fix you?

✅ Whom do you admire – What would this person do in your situation?

You need to decide what’s ACTUALLY important to you. What kind of person you truly want to be.

When you answer those questions, the right actions will be shown to you. It’s up to you to take action and manage “you” during the process.

I believe in you so much that I already know the answers to these questions. I have every faith you can walk your talk – and even learn to RUN with it.

If you just had that pang of realization, your instinct is telling you you need this. But knowing you need to do it and how to do it are two different things.

The how is more complex and needs to be laid out and taught comprehensively, holistically, and progressively. This is not something a layperson (even one who keeps up with the latest “best practices”) can do independently.

Let me help you. I have almost 30 years of experience and degrees within the osteopathic discipline that has taught me the most comprehensive philosophy of how to get and keep your body as balanced, strong, and mobile as possible.

I want to help spread the word on how to apply this to as many people as possible because if you want longevity and to live life to its fullest, a holistic exercise program must be part of your practice.

I am willing to open some spots in my schedule for free consultations. We’ll go over where you are now. What you are doing and have done. And where you want to go. This will allow me to see the gaps in your training and help provide valuable info. And only if I think you are a good fit for my program will I offer you a space in it.

Thinking that if you “try harder” or be “more disciplined” in doing the activities that brought you here and are not sustainably getting you out is deceiving yourself.

You must do something different that your body “likes” and responds to.
